New houses for remote health providers in Papua New Guinea

Rhodes designed and engineered seven climate and terrain appropriate houses using the very best steel frames to minimise their maintenance requirements and maximise their lifecycle. Prototypes were erected as a means of managing and staging the construction and logistics issues that characterised the challenging multiple-site build.

Good quality houses such as these are key to staff retention when it comes to health providers who work remotely like those for the Community Mine Continuation Agreement Health Program in Papua New Guinea. Not only did Rhodes provide these important buildings for the betterment of the health of the community, it also helped upskill the local workforce by having as many of them as possible participate in the project
