Every year Fiji is subject to at least two large tropical cyclones, bringing with them heavy rainfall, extreme winds and flash-flooding. With a growing need for housing and buildings that can withstand the damage inflicted by cyclones, Rhodes has developed a series of housing designs that accommodate the livelihoods of Fijian locals whilst sheltering families from the annual cyclone-season.
Combined with Rhode’s own concreting technique FormCad and the added strength of light gauge steel framing, these Fijian-based houses are built to endure and resist the devastation prone to communities residing on the many islands in Fiji.
