Rhodes Projects is an international prefabricated buildings and materials company, focusing on providing clients with comprehensive building design, supply of building components and delivering full-scale buildings through Rhodes’ construction and development partners. We have a technology and modern methods of construction focus, making the delivery of your construction projects more efficient and competitive.

Rhodes specialises in delivering challenging offshore and remote projects, with experience in turnkey remote area housing, buildings, mining accommodation, infrastructure projects, aid projects, and local developments.

Rhodes' Evolution

Founded in 2011, Rhodes has rapidly grown and evolved. Starting with design, compliance and project management services, We progressed to supply a diverse range of quality building products. Our current design, manufacture, supply and construct capabilities, together with our vertical integration means that we now offer full turn-key services across the globe.

Rhodes’ roots are much older- same 50 combined years older. The evolution of Rhodes is a by-product of two successful family businesses: one a construction company in Australia and the other an engineering and civil construction company in Papua new Guinea.

2011

Rhodes group of companies begins with Rhodes Projects Services – an offshoot of the Papas’ family businesses.

2012

Rhodes services hardware and mining goliaths on prefabricated modular building projects – Bunnings Warehouse and Rio Tinto.

2013

Rhodes teams up with a Papua New Guinea engineering and construction company, wins contracts, including PNG’s largest copper mine – Ok Tedi.

2013

Rhodes withstands the downturn in extractives industry and successfully turns its hand to converting timber designs into prefabricated steel designs via FRAMECAD.

2014

Rhodes PNG is established in Papua New Guinea’s capital, Port Moresby. It secures major contracts including the supply of 40 prefabricated school kits (which would increase to 70 by 2017).

2015

Rhodes’ Design-Manufacture-Supply-Construct capabilities continue to grow. A team of architects and designers is established in the Philippines. Large social infrastructure and industrial facility projects are won and delivered. Local construction capability and capacity is developed.

2016

Rhodes vertical integration evolves. Factories operate in China and Papua New Guinea. Rhodes, and its construction partners, continue to work on numerous projects. Awarded a string of big contracts with the Australian Government (DFAT), the Asian Development Bank and extractives companies proving its turn-key competitiveness and prowess.

2016

Its reputation as a ‘can do’ deliverer of broad spectrum quality prefabricated and modular buildings, in challenging and price sensitive environments continues to grow.

2017

Rhodes’ buildings increase in popularity because of their quality, durability, and affordability. Product offerings are extended beyond Australia and Papua New Guinea with contracts won and delivered in multiple countries throughout the Pacific.

2017

500+ staff are now working on various projects across the greater Pacific. The company launches its new logo and diversifies into property development and masterplanned communities.

2018

Rhodes achieves ISO Sustainability Certifications – 9001, 8001, 4001. The company embarks on an ambitious IFC gender equality program as well as an IFC Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) environmental certification.

2018

A 22-house staff housing project is completed in PNG for Nambawan Supa, as well as 18 more schools and 6 more health outposts for remote communities.

2018

Pilot houses are delivered for the Fiji Housing Authority and for a Philippines property development project. R&D team continues to refine FormCad, a solid wall construction system, seeing it used in buildings across PNG, Fiji and the Philippines.

2018

Rhodes wins a European Aid contract for 7 Tertiary Vocational Education Training centres throughout PNG and continues to pioneer policy change in PNG customary land ownership and titles.

2019

Rhodes commences construction on Tuhava town masterplan community; a game-changing, mixed use sustainable city using modern methods of construction (www.tuhava.com).
