EU TVET Facilities

In May of 2018, the European Union and the Department of National Planning and Monitoring signed contracts to support the efforts to improve technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Papua New Guinea. Rhodes Projects was an honoured contractor to help deliver key learning facilities to 10 TVET institutions across the country EU. Such facilities include residential buildings for teachers, mechanics’ workshops, electrical infrastructure and general classrooms.

As part of the second phase of the EU Human Resources Development Program, these new facilities ensure the relevant practical skills, attitudes, knowledge and understanding of PNG’s key sectors can be shared with greater access to individuals with the desire to complete formal training and apprenticeships. Being a part of this development and helping to provide further opportunities for the local community and aiding access to the workforce aligns with Rhodes’ core values about enabling self-reliance and sustainability.
